Dr. Steiner received her BA in Child Study from Tufts University in 1974. She graduated from the medical School at The State University of New York at Stony Brook Health Sciences Center in 1978. She completed an Internship in pediatrics and a Residency in Psychiatry at Montefiore Hospital (part of Albert Einstein School of Medicine) in The Bronx, NY from 1978-81, and then a Fellowship in Child And Adolescent Psychiatry at St. Luke’s Hospital (part of the Columbia University Teaching System) in New York City from 1981-83.She had extensive experience treating children and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings in New York and Boston before relocating to the Piedmont Triad in 1987. Once here, she treated inpatients at the Child and Adolescent Unit at Charter Mandala and Charter Hospital of Winston-Salem, and treated outpatients of all ages in Winston-Salem and Kernersville until 1992. In 1992 she opened her solo practice in Greensboro for the private outpatient treatment of adults, adolescents, and children over the age of 6. She continued this solo practice for 17 years until late 2008 when she began working with Triad Psychiatric & Counseling Center P.A.. She specializes in treating ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, social anxiety, OCD, and other anxiety disorders in adults and children. She is Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as well as General Psychiatry.
